Gautham tried his hand on this psychological thriller that resulted in him getting mixed reviews with mostly criticism. The movie showcased intimacy between a motherly figure and a boy who is young enough to be her son and this has irked the Hindu Makkal Katchi who held a protest against the movie. It also condemned Gautham for naming the woman after the Hindu goddess Meenakshi and showing her in bad light. They demanded Gautham to delete those scenes for which he politely refused saying that the movie itself will be out of theatres soon.
