Here
is one heroine who can really claim to be
the true hero of her films. If there was
a heroine in South Indian cinema that took
center stage in movies the way heroes do,
it is Vijayashanthi. Aggressive, dynamic,
action-packed performances combined with
crunchy and crisp dialogues were her signature
style. So feisty and domineering was her
character in the P.Vasu directed Mannan,
she seemed on par with the Superstar. The
script demanded her to become perhaps the
only heroine to have slapped Rajinikanth
on-screen. But their duel in the movie still
is a talking point among Tamil cinema fans.
