“Charulatha will fetch me awards”, Priyamani
The audio and trailer release function of Charulatha, starring Priyamani as conjoined twins was held today at Sathyam Cinemas, Chennai. Hansraj Saxena, Dhananjayan Govind, Priya Mani, Saranya Ponvannan, Vijay Antony, Madhan Karky, K Bhagyaraj, KS Ravikumar and R Kannan graced the event. Director KS Ravikumar released the audio and K Bhagyaraj received it.
Speaking at the event, Hansraj Saxena said, “It’s good to be back after a hiatus. My team and I are planning to start a new channel very soon. We will be buying good films and are also planning to venture into satellite rights acquisition. I’m releasing this film along with my friend Ayyappan in the first week of September.”
An enthusiastic Priya Mani said, “I’m featuring in Charulatha as conjoined twins. A lot of work has gone into the film. A lot of CG work is involved in this. I’m sure the audience will have a different experience watching this. I very sure Charulatha will fetch me awards.”
The film’s director, Pon Kumaran said, “The film is about two different minds residing in one body. Love, anger and all the emotions of the two minds will be the main content of the film.”
UTV Motion Pictures South Chief Dhananjayan Govind requested Saxena not to release the film in the first week of September as his Mugamoodi has been scheduled on August 31st. He reasoned that both the films would see good business if Charulatha is released a couple of weeks after Mugamoodi.
