Parvathy's talk on Muslim characters in cinema.

Parvathy’s comments in the recently conducted Bangalore Naatkal press meet have raised a few eyebrows. Known for voicing concerns, Parvathy does not believe in having a second name that denotes a specific caste.

While talking about her decision on doing remakes, she had apparently requested director Bhaskar to retain the name and the cultural specificity of the radio jockey character she did in the original Malayalam version of Bangalore Days in the Tamil remake. But in that case, the local connect would have been lost if the name was not changed when catering to the language in which the film is being remade.

That is when Parvathy added a point to the discussion saying,  "There are no enough Muslim characters in cinema nowadays when compared to the Hindu based characterizations. I do not want to be a part of that art form encouraging something like this. It is not the race or religion I'm talking about, the demographic related culture is what I'm trying to enforce here".
