Knowing fully well that Maryan could be her big ticket in Tamil cinema the young actress took the opportunity to clarify that she would like to be referred to as just Parvathy henceforth. She said that the tag of ‘Menon’ was attached to her because of her Malayalam roots. Her original name is actually Parvathy Thiruvoth Kottuvata.
