''YOU WILL HEAR UNIQUE VOICES IN THIS ALBUM''

Journalist turned director Raju Murugan’s debut film Cuckoo earned much praise and the man is now busy with his second film that is being produced by SR Prabhu for Potential Studios. Sean Roldan scores music for this film and we spoke to the music composer on this subject and this is what he had to say.

“I am working on the music of this film which is going on pretty fast. It will be like an album. There is a lot of work in background score and we are recording songs right now. You will get to hear peculiar and unique voices in the album. Apart from this, I cannot reveal much about the film at this stage. It will be a very different one, coming from a writer and it will be from the heart.

I am personally a fan of writer Raju Murugan and have absolute comfort levels with him. When writers make films, they have a solid product on hand.  Raju Murugan knows exactly what he wants. I don’t know how he brings out the music from me, but it happens very naturally. He tells me, “You don’t confine yourself to doing pallavi and charanam. You work freely and I will take the music. And he does exactly that. He has an ear for special voices and listens to all types of music. This has not come just from writing, but from life experiences and wide travelling. He is a connoisseur of Arts and is an inspirational man.

Yuga Bharathi is penning the lyrics and he has simply skyrocketed in the film with his beautiful verses. Songs have come out extraordinarily well. 

As regards producer Prabhu, I know him from Mundasupatti days. He is a very able producer and has a good taste. He strikes the right balance between entertainment and quality and is keen that there must be a take away from entertainment too.

I am happy to be a part of such good enterprises where the director and the producer have a sound understanding of the medium. I want to do something new that should reach the audience. I feel this team has the necessary ingredients in delivering that”.
