NO WOMEN BASHING FOR THIS 'LOVE FAILURE'

Miruthan, said to be the first zombie film in Tamil, had its audio released recently. Music for the film is scored by Imman and Jayam Ravi and Lakshmi Menon play the leads. Shakthi Sounderrajan has directed Miruthan.

The track called Munnal Kadhali penned by Madhan Karky and sung by Vishal Dadlani and Sharanya Gopinath has caught on the attention for its positivity towards love failure. At a time when women bashing with the choicest epithets seems to be the ‘cool’ thing, here are Karky’s lines which look at the entire episode of ‘love failure’ in the most sorted, matured and practical manner. His lines are positive; there is sorrow being expressed but there is no bitterness. Life has to move on, is the main motto of the song.

Karky in an exclusive chat with behindwoods shares his feelings, “When Shakthi had sought for a break-up song, I told him that we will try something different and gave him these lines. He loved them and retained the same with no change. Whenever there is love failure, the finger has always pointed towards womenfolk (especially in cinema) accompanied by acerbic verses. But when such situations come to me, I try to paint it with a different brush, like for instance, the prayer song in IDHABA* was a fun one.

For this number, I wanted a practical take on life. Therefore, I went on like- ‘If you are there with me, it will be good, but if not, my life will take a different turn. Both of us have future, but now that would be on a different track’.

We wanted to give such positive ideas to youngsters. There are different ways to vent out our anger. It is important that we channelize it in the right manner. There is no reason to live with negative energy. That’s the idea of the song”.

Karky also has a request to all. “Whenever there is something negative, it is being shared fast making it go viral. But we need to share good songs also. If that is done, it will encourage to create positive songs in the industry”.
