'SHE' IS A FANTASY

Maya, Muthazhagi, Shakti, Jessy, Kumutha, Aradhana, Hasini, Meera, Malar, Kalai, Yamini, Vasanthi, Kalpana, Janani, Irene, Keerthana, Regina, Celine, Kadhambari, Neelambari. Each name would have surely brought to your mind the picture of a woman with a unique character.

You’ve probably seen her only once or twice. You’ve probably not seen her but heard about her from a friend. But still her voice and mannerisms echoed in your heart the moment you read her name. Well, you have a whole list of directors to thank for the fond memories of these women.

A film is a mirror that reflects a person’s  idea of something. Such powerful women characters only prove to us that filmmakers in Kollywood have a very clear admiration for womanhood. And the fact that you and I could take Jessy or Maya to our heart only proves that our society in general admires and respects womankind.

Kollywood is proof that we are in awe of the mystical force that woman are. Kollywood is proof that we celebrate our women.

You probably even remember what they had to say to us: 

"நா வரேன்னு தப்பான டயத்துல சொல்லிட்டேன்ல? உன்னால எதுவும் பண்ண முடில இல்ல? ஒரு பத்து நிமிஷமாவது என்ன பண்றதுன்னு யோசிச்சு இருப்ப இல்ல? அது இருக்க கூடாது கார்த்திக்!"

"போடா, ஊர்ல ஒனக்கு எவளான தேன்மொழி, கனிமொழின்னு கெடப்பா, நா ஒனக்கு செட் ஆக மாட்டேன்"

Isn’t Kollywood always teaching us a lesson on women? That being said, Aren’t women always teaching us a valid lesson?
