''I GOT THE FILM BECAUSE OF DHANUSH SIR''

The teaser of Selvaraghavan’s Nenjam Marapathillai had made people sit up and take notice. GK Prasanna, the talented editor of the film shares his experience working with Selvaraghavan and sheds light on his other projects as well.

Completed Projects 
I am done with Yaanum Theeyavan. Rangoon and China are in the final stages of post-production. Rangoon is produced by AR Murugadoss sir with Foxstar, with Gautham Karthik in the lead.

Nenjam Marapathillai and Selvaraghavan
Selva sir’s Nenjam Marapathillai is in the post-production stage. Working with him is an awesome learning experience. He himself is a fantastic editor. His association has helped me hone my skills in timing sense in shots.

I got Nenjam Marapathillai through Dhanush sir who put me on to Selva sir. I was initially anxious because I was not sure if he would like my work. Those initial apprehensions were there, but I got along very well. I had the same comfort level that I had with Balaji Mohan with Selva sir too (Prasanna’s debut film as an editor was Maari). He (Selva) gives a lot of flexibility and space to technicians.

The teaser of Nenjam Marapathillai was completely Selva sir’s idea. He gave directions and guided me.

Further projects
I have Maragadha Naanayam with Aadhi and Nikki Galrani directed by debutant Saravanan. I am also editing Thanneer Thanneer, again with many newcomers. I have signed Shathru under the direction of Naveen (assistant of Radha Mohan) with Kathir as the lead. I am happy to be on board for Dhanush sir’s directorial Power Pandi.
