One of a kind song in OK Kanmani
Apr 16, 2015After a scintillating 'A capella' in the Mani Ratnam directed Thiruda Thiruda, Rahman does something even more inspirational this time for O Kadhal Kanmani. The number Parandhu Sellava sung by Karthik and Shashaa Tirupati is more of a song made only from the elements of their voice, simultaneously recorded from an app on a loop setting a rhythm.
Interestingly, the visuals of the song are also centered on the lead pair having fun singing in a beautifully well-lit room. The song has lots of harmonies, usage of non lexical utterances and brilliant scat singing done by the singers themselves. Pushing the horizons and making a progressive song like this shows the standard of the Rahman - Mani combination.
Known for giving the importance for a song and not ruining it by giving a bad lead, this particular song already enjoyed by the music lovers is also said to be equally comprehended in the film with the visuals.
