Raghava Lawrence's blockbuster Kanchana 2 enters the 25th day of its run today, May 11

One of the biggest blockbusters in recent Tamil cinema history, Kanchana 2 enters the 25th day of its run today, the 11th May. The film was declared an outright blockbuster within days of its release.

Many theaters reported continuous housefull shows for the first week or so, and the film has held on very strong even after the release of Uttama Villain and Vai Raja Vai on May 1. The TN gross is reported to be well in excess of 50 crores, a great achievement without a doubt. In Chennai city, the film is estimated to have grossed around 5.86 crores till date and it continues to play in many multiplexes and single screens.

Not just in Tamil Nadu, the film is doing rousing business in its Telugu dubbed version Ganga too, which released on May 1 two weeks after the release of the Tamil original. The enthusiasm for Ganga is comparable to the other big Tamil dubbed release, Shankar's 'I' early this year.

Overseas markets like Malaysia have also been big on business for the film, and Raghava Lawrence and all the stakeholders have struck gold literally. Congrats to the team.
