THE NEXT REMAKE PROSPECT FROM KERALA IS HERE ...

The latest sensation from the Malayalam film industry is Charlie starring Dulquer Salmaan and Parvathy. The film is strongly recommended for romantics & travel buffs with brilliant music by Gopi Sundar and exotic visuals. Charlie is another film which is bound to be super-hot in the remake market, following other Malayalam films this year such as Premam and Ennu Ninte Moideen. The film has reportedly taken a thundering opening in Kerala. 

 

Charlie is about the pursuit of love when a curious young woman (played by Parvathy) is smitten by a do-gooder, free-spirited 'genie' (played by Dulquer). It has an interesting narrative pattern as we are shown Dulquer's tale through stories, incidents and people that Parvathy encounters before the two finally meet in the end for the fairytale ending. The film plays with English subtitles in Chennai thereby making it accessible to the non-Malayali public too.

 

Dulquer‬ owns these free-spirited rebel kind of roles. So much charisma and with that thick beard, he looks even more intense in Charlie. ‎Parvathy‬ shows her powerhouse talent yet again, that nerdy curly-haired look suited her so well.

 

Now will this film be prominent in the remake market soon? Who will be apt to reprise the lead roles? Or will we see Dulquer and Parvathy doing the Tamil version too, given their popularity in TN? Let the guessing game continue ...
