PASSIONATE FILMMAKERS OF TAMIL CINEMA – PART 2

Blue Ocean Film and Television Academy (BOFTA) started targeting 100 students in March and they have already drawn more than 80 students until now. The institute has a star studded faculty team involving Director Mahendran, Nasser, Bhagyaraj, Parthiban, B Lenin, Karthik Subbaraj, Pandiraj, Ram, Vishnuvardhan, Venkat Prabhu and many others.  

G Dhananjayan, a faculty member and one of the directors of BOFTA, while in a conversation with the correspondent of Behindwoods.com, shared a few exciting details about the involvement of the Masters of the institute.

“It’s inspiring to see the level of commitment the Masters are showing towards our initiative,” He says.

“Since the level of knowledge of the students is limited, Director Mahendran has personally taken up the job of building a library of books and movies. He has also asked his students to visit the library regularly from now, while the course is scheduled to begin from July.”

This library at BOFTA was apparently readied prior to its schedule, on a special request from the veteran. Director Mahendran personally collected the books and movies that ought to be in the library, says Mr Dhananjayan.

Actor Nasser’s involvement is yet another interesting and inspiring episode. Apart from the massive hall that has been allocated for acting courses, a terrace of 3000 Sq. Ft was designed on a special request from Nasser. Mr. Dhananjayan further explains, “Nasser sir is personally supervising and in fact building most of the structures required with his own hands. He is also making a garden in the terrace. His idea is to create a beautiful ambience that would contribute to the creativity of his students. The acting students will also spend their early morning sessions here, practicing Yoga and few other regimes that Nasser has planned for them.”
