WHAT IF MANKATHA HAD 4 LEADING STARS?

We all know the kind of appeal that Ajith's Mankatha possesses even now, almost 4 years after its release in 2011. Arjun shared the screen space with Ajith in this landmark film and he garnered his share of the applause too. Arjun is a very popular name in the Kannada film world as well as in Andhra, and this definitely boosted Mankatha's performance in these two states (in both the Tamil as well as the Telugu dubbed versions).

 

In an interesting trivia, initially Mankatha was planned with not just two main heroes (Ajith and Arjun) but with 3 other leading stars (one each from Andhra, Karnataka and Kerala) apart from Thala Ajith. But this plan didn't work out due to some practical and logistical issues.

 

Now coming to the perennially in-demand sequel of Mankatha, the team is heard to be having a line to develop the premise for the sequel. We only have to hope that the sequel takes shape and commences some time in the near future.
