BAAHUBALI SETS A NEW RECORD AT VETTRI

We all know the kind of impact that Baahubali has created at the box-office since its release on July 10. The film is nearing the magical 50 days mark this week and it still holds strong in a sizable number of screens. It is safe to say, a phenomenon in recent times.

 

Rakesh Gowthaman, MD of the popular Vettri Theaters shares some facts and perspectives from the film's run in his complex, and makes us realize the magnitude of the Baahubali Storm. Over to him,

- Baahubali will be the first movie to complete 50 days in Vettri since 2010, after Enthiran which ran for 49 days.

- Biggest direct Telugu opening ever in Vettri history.

- After Vyjayanthi IPS, this is the best performance by a film originating from Andhra.

- It crossed Kanchana 2's 28 days box-office collections in just 21 days and still went strong.

- It has done three times the collection of Naan Ee.

- Despite lesser screen space after its 1st week, due to the release of Maari, this collection is remarkable.

- This year's highest footfall (Tamil and Telugu) for us, so far, beating Shankar's I.

- Even in the 7th weekend, all the 4 weekend shows here went Housefull.

- Coming weekend, the film would be moved to the main screen in the evening slots to celebrate its terrific performance, and as a dedication to SS Rajamouli sir.
