Why Vivek chose Naan Thaan Bala?

Vivek is all set for the release of his movie Naan Thaan Bala, in which he plays the protagonist. In the film, Vivek plays the role of an honest Hindu priest.
 

Reportedly, he plays a serious character in the movie. When asked, in a recent interview, he said, “It is true that when comedians try to become heroes, they try to do more of the same — they want to do a full-fledged comedy. But today, even the leading men want to do more comedy. I didn’t want to go down that path.”
 

According to sources close to the team, it was director Bala who had persuaded Vivek to take up the role of the protagonist. And, because of that the movie has been titled "Naan Thaan Bala", as a tribute to him.
