Ilayathalapathy Vijay: “Dreaming for people to accept me as a mainstream lead”

“THANK YOU

December 04, 1992. It’s been 22 years now and I still remember that night, anxiously waiting for Nalaiaya Theerpu. I spent that night hoping and dreaming for people to accept me as a mainstream lead in Tamil cinema. Looking back, I felt I have got more than what I had dreamt that night.

Being a person who doesn’t forget the past, I remember and cherish every single day of these 22 years I have spent in cinema. Cinema has given me everything in life. I would like to take this opportunity to convey my heartfelt thanks to people who have helped me in these past 22 years.

Firstly I would like to thank all the producers who had trusted and invested in my films and me. If not for them, these 22 years wouldn't have been possible. Friends from all forms of Media have always been very supportive of me, they have complimented and criticized me at right times. They have helped me in reaching out my audience and have been a strong pillar in my growth last 22 years.

Thanking my parents Mr.S.A.Chandrasekar and Mrs. Shoba Chandrasekar and my family for being the backbone of both my Personal and professional life.

Lastly, I am not really sure how to thank my fans, who have been there with me all these years. They have stood with me through all my ups and downs. They have been with me during both my success and my failures. I don’t think word thanks would be enough for all the love they have showered on me all these years and given me everything I have with me today. Like I always say, they will remain in my heart forever.
