Veteran villain no more
Nov 03, 2014Sadashiv Amrapurkar, the man who women loved to hate and who made the heroes struggle hard, is no more. He had been suffering from lung infection for some time and was hospitalized. The end came this morning in Mumbai.
He was born as Ganesh Kumar Narwode but changed his name to Sadashiv Amrapurkar and made an impressionable mark both in theatre as well as cinema.
Known for his brilliant histrionics in films like Ardh Sathya, Sadak and Ishq, Amrapurkar was also seen in regional films in Marathi, Bengali and Oriya.
He is still remembered for his spine-chilling performance in Sadak where he played the role of a eunuch to perfection, which fetched him the Filmfare award for the Best Actor award in a negative role.
Sadashiv is survived by his wife Sunanda and daughter Reema. Behindwoods expresses its heartfelt condolences to the family and prays for the departed soul to rest in peace.
