Centenary of Kamal and Sivaji's debut composer

26th April, 1914, exactly 100 years ago, R. Sudarsanam, the legendary music composer was born. R. Sudarsanam was the only music director employed by AVM productions and has composed music for numerous movies like Sababathi, Naam Iruvar, Penn, Kula Deivam, Parasakthi, Poompugar and Kalathur Kannama. It should be noted that Parasakthi and Kalathur Kannama were the debut films of Sivaji Ganesan and Kamal Haasan respectively. 

 

Sudarsanam is seen as a senior figure to many legendary musicians in the industry and his contributions to the music space are immense. Behindwoods takes pride in remembering this legend in his 100th birth anniversary year.
