The Telugu curtain raiser of Superstar Rajinikanth's Lingaa happened yesterday. Speaking at the event, Thalaivar was at his cheery best collecting applause at will.

 

Rajinikanth began his speech by apologizing for not participating in the recently held Hudhud fundraiser event because of a family occasion. But, the Superstar promised that he will do the needful.

 

Superstar, about the plagiarism cases in court about Lingaa, shared a tweet that he read, "Why are they fighting for a story in a Rajinikanth's movie", sending the gathering to guffaws. But, Rajinikanth did insist that Lingaa has a really, really beautiful subject. 

 

Rajini also said that it was not doing the style and action, but romancing the two pretty ladies - Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Shetty - which was tough. "The greatest revenge one can take on a 60 year old actor is make him romance two beautiful lasses."

 

"We took up the challenging task of finishing the movie in 6 months, not to prove something, but to be an inspiration to the youngsters - to lead by example.", Superstar added.

 

Thalaivar also took a jolly dig at DoP Rathnavelu. Apparently, Rathnavelu, in the Tamil audio launch, said that they had made Rajini look young and handsome in Lingaa. Rajini said, "Rathnavelu has made me look young, but handome - not sure. (And, gave his trademark laugh)"
