Chennai is a city, Madras is an emotion. Attakathi fame Ranjith has done it again for Karthi in Madras. A political thriller based on an emotional tale of friendship, the film is being raved for its bold attempt, artistic narration and brilliant performances from the cast.

When the director was contacted to know about his present feeling, he quotes, "My phone has been ringing ever since the first day first show. People from the industry and also lots of film lovers have been wishing for having given a quality product. I'm extremely happy. Most of the portions of the film was shot at the housing-board area in Ramana nagar. They called me and wished for showing their place beautifully".

Here comes the best part, 'Venkat Prabhu sir called me and said that he wanted to give me a kiss. He said, how did you make such an amazing movie. I am overwhelmed by his response. I think I have made some sense with this movie'. It has to be recalled that Ranjith had taken his direction training under Venkat Prabhu
