A.R.Murugadoss' two legendary idols

AR Murugadoss, the hotshot director of Indian Cinema, in a recent interview, said that Mani Ratnam and Shankar are his two idols. He also talked about what he learnt from the two directors.
 

He said that Shankar taught him to think big – not just in terms of the scale of production, but the issue under question as well.  
 

While, from Mani Ratnam, Murugadoss has learnt to use all the available accessories - sets, cinematography, makeup – to create a singular vision of the scene. He says that vision will engage the audience.
 

He said, “If a character in a movie smiles, we should smile. If they cry, we should cry. If this connection snaps, we say we’re bored.”
 

The director is all set for the release of Holiday, the Hindi version of Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s blockbuster Thuppakki, on June 6^th.
