'Adhaaru Adhaaru' - for the ardent Thala Ajith fan boys

The first single from Yennai Arindhaal, 'Adhaaru Adhaaru' was released earlier today in all online platforms and also in the FM space. The song has won acceptance from hardcore Ajith fans though loyalists of the Gautham Menon - Harris Jayaraj combo have expressed opinion that they expected much more. In fact, the song doesn't have the Gautham Menon stamp anywhere, given its mainstream and 'massy' nature.

 

Coming to the song, it is a simple, casual foot-tapping number targeted at Ajith's large fan base with feel-good lyrics. The song doesn't have any lofty motives or experimentation. It, in fact, has the Ajith - Deva 'gana' vibe when they had a strong partnership in the 90s. 

 

The song begins in typical Harris mode with the guitar intro and the lady chorus section. The 'thaara thappatta' kick-starts the number in a big way and sets it in motion. Vijay Prakash is the more dominant among the two singers while Gana Bala is sort of understated compared to his other recent hits where he took prominence.

 

In all, Thala's screen presence and dance moves may lift the song to great heights on screen. Even otherwise, it is tailor-made for maximum rotations in the FM space.
