A year packed with many memorable hits

Leading music label, Think Music, known for their quality releases have had a splendid year yet again, with close to 20 Tamil films and 3 Malayalam films as well in 2014. We had a chat with Santhosh Kumar, the Head of Think Music, to know more about how they have fared this year.

 

"The year has been awesome. Among our albums, Thegidi, Cuckoo, Mundasupatti, Jigarthanda, Madras, Nedunchalai and Thirumanam Enum Nikkah met with a great response and also generated good revenues for us. The video clipping of 'Vinmeen' from Thegidi has clocked more than 3 million clicks in our official YouTube channel.

Our channel has crossed 1 lakh subscribers in a really quick time and YouTube has in fact appreciated our channel for the quality of our content. Each of our clippings would have some level of standard.

 

Among our other albums this year, Sathuranga Vettai, Vaayai Moodi Pesavum and Thirudan Police also did well for us. Punya Srinivas' Sound of Swan and Ilayaraja sir's Swappnam were our non-film outings.

 

Continuing with our tradition of grooming new young composers, this year we introduced Nivas Prasanna (Thegidi), Sean Roldan (Vaayai Moodi Pesavum) and Sudharshan (Burma).

 

We have now set a big benchmark and music critics actually expect all our albums to have something interesting to offer. Many of our films and albums have been featured in awards and 'best lists' compiled by the media. Agreed, there have been some misses but for the coming year, we strive to develop an even more loyal audience base for our label with quality, soulful music.
