The Suriya - Trisha - A.R.Rahman combo that didn't work out

Suriya's press release announcing the shelving of Dhruva Natchathiram created a big stir in the media a few months back. Gautham Menon, in a recent interview, elaborated a bit more about that particular project

"Trisha was signed on as the heroine. A.R.Rahman was to provide the music and the likes of Parthiban, Arun Vijay were also committed to the film. We were all set to go for shoots and then suddenly Suriya decided against taking it up.

His press statement really upset me initially but, it also relieved me in a way. Rahman Sir's dates got wasted in bulk, due to this development but he has been magnanimous to work in my current film with Simbu, despite his busy schedule.

Anyway, Suriya will always be my friend and he recently even invited me to a personal function at his house."
