The year is coming to a close and some filmmakers are making a last ditch attempt at putting their films out in theatres before the New year ushers in a series of big releases.

With December 28 being the last Friday of the year, it may also see upto 12 films being released on that day. This is reportedly being tipped as a new record when it comes to box-office battles. As we just reported, Samar has been confirmed for that date after clearing the censors. The other contendors vying for the slot are Kozhi Koovudhu, Paraseega Mannan, 10,000 Kodi, Agilan, Pudhumugangal Thevai, Lollu Dha Dha Parak Parak, Guest, Nanbargal Kavanathirku, Kalavaram, Kurumbakara Pasanga and Ram Charan which is the dubbed version of Orange from Telugu.

It will be interesting to see just how many of these films find themselves a screen, and importantly which of them will last the distance !
