A loyal friend, passionate dancer and a fierce warrior- are the qualities of Superstar Rajinikanth’s character in Kochadaiyaan, as explained by the film’s director Soundarya R Ashwin.

As reported earlier, Rajinikanth does play both characters, of father and the son in this much awaited 3D film. Kochadaiyaan is the father and Rana is his son. The major portion of the film is reportedly about Kochadaiyaan, a successful commander and a good friend of the King. His primary goal is to conquer the entire world and put it under the feet of his King.

Shobana plays the love interest of Kochadaiyaan and the young Deepika Padukone, of Rana. It is said that in one of the action sequences, Kochadaiyaan uses his classical dance skills as a martial art.
 

The director of the film promises that this period flick has been made with the 'Rajini formula' in mind and that it will have all the ingredients required to enthrall the fans.
