Century in Cinema: A celebration at Chennai
Jul 02, 2013 The southern movie industry is soon to come together to commemorate Indian cinema’s centenary year. C. Kalyan, president of South Indian Film Chambers of Commerce (SIFCC) admits that returning to the roots is one of the reasons why Chennai was chosen for the event.
“Chennai is the birthplace of South Indian cinema” says Kalyan while he expresses his excitement over the fact that notable personalities from the Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada film industries are expected to be among the attendees. In preparation for the occasion that is to run from Sept 1-3, all the four industries will remain closed facilitating and ensuring the participation of many.
There are also hopes that the chief ministers of the respective states would grace the event and give support to the memorable gathering.
