VIDEO: TRUMP CLARIFIES OVER HIS REMARKS ON USING DISINFECTANT INSIDE PEOPLE'S BODIES
Home > News Shots > WorldA day after US President Donald Trump suggested about using disinfectant or sunlight to treat coronavirus inside people's bodies, he later clarified over his own statement adding that he was being sarcastic.
At a recent news briefing, US President Trump responded that he was asking the question “sarcastically to reporters like you, just to see what would happen”. Trump took back those comments to continue to advance his theory that disinfectants and sunlight might ultimately help within the body.
“I was asking a question sarcastically to reporters like you just to see what would happen,” he told journalists at an event in the Oval Office. Trump further said that he was not encouraging people to ingest disinfectant.
Trump’s clarification comes after comments about the issue raised concerns that people might poison themselves while trying to fight the virus. Meanwhile, the Maryland Emergency Management Agency claimed that they had received several calls about disinfectant use and COVID-19.
“This is a reminder that under no circumstances should any disinfectant product be administered into the body through injection, ingestion or any other route,” Maryland later said in a tweet.
