As the coronavirus pandemic outbreak continues to spread across the world, researchers at John Hopkins University state that, there are at least 1,02,026 people who have died due to the growing virus.
The researchers further say at least 1,681,964 people have been infected, while 374,509 have recovered from the infection. Among the most affected, currently, the United States has become the first country in the world to record more than 2,000 deaths in one day. They have registered 2,108 fatalities in the past 24 hours.
As per a DNA report, below is a list of top 10 countries in terms of the number of coronavirus cases and death.
Firstly, highlighting about the cases in the world:

- Spain with 158,273 COVID-19 cases
- Italy with 147,577 COVID-19 cases
- France with 125,931 COVID-19 cases
- Germany with 122,171 COVID-19 cases
- China with 82,971 COVID-19 cases
- United Kingdom with 74,605 COVID-19 cases
- Iran with 68,192 COVID-19 cases
- Turkey with 47,029 COVID-19 cases
- Belgium with 26,667 COVID-19 cases
Then comes 10 countries with the highest number of deaths count:
- US with 18,693 deaths
- Italy with 18,849 deaths
- Spain with 16,081 deaths
- France with 13,197 deaths
- United Kingdom with 8,958 deaths
- Iran with 4,232 deaths
- China with 3,340 deaths
- Belgium with 3,019 deaths
- Germany with 2,736 deaths
- Netherlands with 2,511 deaths
Currently, in India, the number of cases has risen to 7,447 with 239 deaths so far. India on April 11, recorded the biggest rise in daily new cases of the novel coronavirus.
With the recent updates, Maharashtra has the highest number of confirmed cases with 1,574 followed by Tamil Nadu 911, Delhi 903 and Rajasthan 553.
