DESPITE SEVERAL MEASURES, RUSSIA RECORDS ITS BIGGEST ONE-DAY RISE IN CORONAVIRUS CASES  

To slow the spread of COVID-19, many countries have taken up unprecedented measures; amid all the fear and tension, Russia confirmed 196 new coronavirus infections and marking the country's largest one-day rise in cases so far. 

With this rise in number, the country’s official toll of cases rose to 1,036. As per The Moscow Times, Russia said one more person has died due to the virus in the past 24 hours, which took the total number of deaths to four. 

Russia, initially reported smaller numbers than European countries, while officials feel that the real number of cases is likely much higher. Currently, most of the confirmed new cases are from Moscow. 

Highlighting about the worldwide numbers, the virus has infected more than 5,30,000 people and killed more than 24,000.
