TAMIL NADU RECORDS 77 NEW CORONAVIRUS CASES, STATE TALLY SOON TO CROSS 1000
Home > News Shots > Tamil NaduAs the number of COVID-19 cases in the country is soon to cross 6,000, Tamil Nadu on Friday reported 77 new cases in the state. With this rise in the confirmed cases, the state toll has increased to 911.
During a press briefing, Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary CS Shanmugam confirmed on the same stating that, 77 new Covid-19 cases have been reported in the state today; the total number of Covid-19 cases in the state is 911.
Yesterday, Tamil Nadu reported 96 new Coronavirus cases. As per Tamil Nadu Heath Department’s latest data, the state government has screened 2,10,538 passengers at the airports of Chennai, Trichy, Madurai, and Coimbatore. They have also isolated 1987 suspected individuals in hospitals.
The state government has tested 8410 samples of which 911 have tested positive. While results of 661 samples are awaited and 44 patients were discharged following treatment.
Tamil Nadu has 19 (12 Govt and 7 private) functioning COVID-19 testing facilities. A total of 3,371 ventilators and 29,074 isolation beds are available in the state.
