Cyclone Gaja has wreaked havoc across the coastal regions of Tamil Nadu, causing considerable damage to human life and public property. While rescue and relief operations are still underway, a massive row has erupted over relief efforts in the state.
Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Rajini Makkal Mandram' (RMM) distributed food packets in the aftermath of the cyclone. However, the food packets had Rajini's stamp on them. This has triggered a massive faceoff in the state, with many accusing the actor of trying to use the tragedy for publicity.
The actor has been accused of seeking political mileage out of the relief work his organisation. The food packets distributed by the RMM bore the 'stamp' of the actor’s iconic looks from Padaiyappa and Baasha.
Rajinikanth had earlier commended the workers of RMM for their relief efforts in the aftermath of the cyclone.
