Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami announced that the state will distribute nilavembu kudineer and kabasura kudineer as a part of the ‘Arogyam’ scheme to help citizens in boosting their immunity.
As a part of this scheme, residents who are living in containment zones in Chennai will be given packs of kabasura kudineer, a siddha medicine. The government announced that these herbal drinks are not a cure for COVID-19 but will help citizens to boost their immunity.
Other new developments include the emergence of coronavirus themed auto in the city. According to India Today’s report on the subject, this idea came from the zone 12 division of the Chennai corporation which is trying to create awareness about the pandemic, among citizens. This new idea was brought to the fore in order to urge people to stay at home and avoid hitting the streets unless it is absolutely necessary.
Corona- themed facemasks and street art are some of the unique techniques that the city had adopted earlier, to battle COVID-19.
