Cigarettes protect you from Coronavirus new research says

The findings come after researchers at a top Paris medical institution tested 343 Coronavirus patients alongside 139 humans infected with the contamination but exhibiting milder symptoms.

They located that a low quantity of them smoked, as compared to smoking rates of round 35 percent in France's fashionable population. "Among these patients, most effective five percentage were people who smoke," stated Zahir Amoura, the study's co-writer and a professor of inner medicine.

The research is along the lines of a similar article published in the New England Journal of Medicine that advised that 12.6 per cent of 1,000 people infected in China have been smokers. That was a much lower estimate than the wide variety of commoners who smoke in China's widespread population, approximately 26 per cent, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO).

According to renowned neurobiologist Jean-Pierre Changeux from France's Pasteur Institut, who also co-authored the study, the theory is that nicotine could adhere to cell receptors, therefore blocking the virus from entering cells and spreading in the body.
