BULLIED FOR PEEING IN CLASSROOM, GRADE XI STUDENT HANGS HIMSELF

A class XI student, studying at a private school in the Chengalpet district of Tamil Nadu, committed suicide after his friends bullied him for urinating in the classroom while he was asleep.

According to a report in Times of India quoting police officials, 16-year-old Bharat suffered from primary nocturnal enuresis, also known as bed-wetting. He had been consulting doctors to treat the issue. Last Wednesday, Bharat fell asleep during his free period in school, and apparently urinated on the bench. One of his classmates, who saw this, told others after which they all teased Bharat.

Upset over the teasing, Bharat told his parents that he would never return to the school and that he was on leave till December 21. However, his father convinced him and sent him to school.

This weekend, when Bharat was alone in his house, he locked the doors and hanged himself from the ceiling using his mother's saree.
