600 NEW POSITIVE CASES AND 3 DEATHS IN TAMIL NADU; ADDITIONAL COVID-19 DETAILS LISTED

Tamil Nadu on Friday, 8 May, reported 600 new cases of COVID-19 taking the total number of cases in the state 6009.

Press Note from the Health Ministry said a total of 1589 cases are linked to Koyambed Market.

Three persons succumbed to the virus on the date taking the death toll of the state to 40.

Total number of active cases on date - 4361

Total number of Male/Female/Transgender tested positive today – 405/195/0

Total number of Male/Female/Transgender tested positive till date – 4135/1872/2

Total number of functioning COVID-19 testing facilities – 52 (36 government and 16 private)

Total number of samples tested till date – 2,16,416

Total number of samples tested today – 13,980

Total number of persons tested till date – 2,06,407

Total number of persons tested today – 13,833

Total number of suspected individuals in isolation ward admission – 4201

Total number of patients discharged following treatment till date– 1605

Total number of patients discharged following treatment today – 58
