Rohit Sharma speaking on his 32nd birthday spoke about how important MS Dhoni is to the Indian team for this world cup.

He has also said that Dhoni's contribution from behind the stumps is massive for Kohli and the two spinners in Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav.

Rohit Sharma in an interview with India Today said "MS has years of experience. He has handled the team for so long and brought success to the team. So his role is quite important. Not just a player or batsman but as an individual too. His suggestions and thought process reflect upon a lot of the team players. He tries to help out all the players, When he is wicket-keeping too, he keeps telling Kuldeep and Chahal about the pitch and what to bowl. All these things matter a lot."

Adding to this, he also said that as a senior player, he has the responsibility to support Virat Kohli in making decisions to help the team move forward just like how Sehwag, Sachin, and other senior players helped MS Dhoni when he was captain.
