On September 1 (Sunday), the Indian selection committee led by M.S.K Prasad selected the members for the Indian team's Strength and Conditioning Coach as per the release by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The top candidates include Rajnikanth Sivagnanam, Nick Webb and Luke Woodhouse.
According to the reports, the selectors had gathered at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru along with the fitness expert Randeep Moitra in order to conduct a practical assessment for the five shortlisted candidates. Therefore, BCCI had finalised Webb as the top candidate followed by Luke Woodhouse and Rajnikanth Sivagnanam in the second and third positions, respectively.
Reportedly the Strength and Conditioning coaches will be receiving their contracts once they complete their ongoing practical assessment at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). It is said the new contracts would come into effect from September 5 and Team India would also be returning to home on the same day as the second Test against West Indies gets over on September 3.
