While Pakistan's losing streak against India continues to be a bane for Pakistan Cricket team and its fans, Imran Khan’s promise has created new hope and energy for the Pakistan fans. Imran Khan has said that he is currently developing a strategy to make Pakistan the best cricket team in the world as per the report by First Post.
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is currently in the US as a three-day visit and he will be meeting President Donald Trump on July 22. While addressing the Pakistani-Americans at Capital one Arena in downtown, Washington DC, Imran Khan was quoted as saying that he has "started working on developing the best cricket team of the world in the next tournament, by bringing the best players in the team" referring to the Pakistan Cricket Team. Imran Khan also affirmed the fans saying, “Remember my words”
Pakistan’s stint in the 2019 World Cup ended in the group stage itself and they finished 5th in the points table. Though they shared equal points (11) with New Zealand, the blackcaps qualified for the semifinals on the basis of net run rate.
Imran Khan also referred to Pakistan fans huge disappointments during the ICC World Cup 2019 and pledged to reform the Pakistan Cricket Team within the next World Cup. Interestingly, 2021 T20 World Cup and 2023 50-over World Cup will be hosted by India. Therefore, we would have to wait and see if Imran Khan could able to pull off a best Pakistan team to challenge other teams, especially India.
