The International Criceket Council (ICC) has made some changes to the Super Over rule following the uproar over this year's World Cup result.
According to the amended rule, if both the teams are tied in a Super Over in a semi-final or final, the Super Over will be repeated until the tie breaks down and either of the team wins.
"In group stages, if the Super Over is tied the match will be tied. In Semi Finals and Finals, there is one change to the Super Over regulation in keeping with the basic principle of scoring more runs than the opponent to win, the Super Over will be repeated until one team has more runs than the other," ICC was quoted as saying by TOI.
In the 2019 World Cup finale between England and New Zealand, the former was declared winners based on the most number of boundaries after the Super Over was tied.
