In a shocking incident, a 45-year-old woman has poured Sulphuric acid on a Security Guard over financial dispute on July 21 at Santacruz, Mumbai.
Amrendra Gaud(40) was working as a Security Guard at Anna Apartments in Santacruz. Paramjeet Poliwal was working as a house maid in the same apartment. Reportedly, around six months ago, Poliwal has got a loan of Rupees 1.5lakh from Gaud assuring that she would return it within three months. However she did not keep her words and kept on delaying the repayment inspite of frequent reminders by Gaud.
Last week, Gaud told Poliwal to repay the entire amount soon as he was planning to go to his hometown in Bihar. Poliwal asked for another time extension which Gaud refused. Frustrated Poliwal, went to Gaud’s home in the name of discussing repayment schedule and poured Sulphuric acid on his head before escaping from the spot. Upon hearing Gaud’s scream, people from the apartment rescued Gaud and admitted him in a nearby hospital. Later his condition was declared out of danger.
Meanwhile, Santacruz Police booked Poliwal under sections 307 and 326 of the Indian Penal Code pertaining to attempt to murder and voluntarily causing grievous hurt by use of acid respectively. A special team was formed to find Poliwal. Within 24 hours, she was found hiding in Juhu area. She was then produced in a Magistrate court and remanded in police custody.
