The nation woke up to a shocking news on Thursday, when an Unnao rape victim was allegedly burnt by five men on her way to the court. As per the villagers, the woman walked for over one kilometre after being set on fire and sought help from a person.
Shockingly, the victim herself called 112 and informed the police about the incident, as per Aaj Tak reports.
This horrifying incident took place at Sindupur village in Unnao district. After the ambulance arrived, the victim was then shifted to a government hospital in Lucknow for immediate treatment and is said to be in a critical condition.
When the police arrived at the spot, the victim had also given her statement to the magistrate.
According to NDTV reports, the Unnao rape victim named five men who burnt her. She also stated that she was beaten up by the five men who then burned her alive on the road.
The victim was allegedly raped in March 2019, who had accused five people in the case. She was on her way to a court in Rae Bareli for a hearing in the rape case when she was attacked on early Thursday morning.
Meanwhile, the police say that the woman has been admitted in a plastic surgery burn unit where she has been admitted with 90 per cent burns.
