Shiv Sena and BJP are on a tussle over power sharing in Maharashtra. The Shiv Sena had cautioned their ally to not push them further, reports NDTV.
Speaking to NDTV, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut insisted that they believed in the alliance and they also did not outright rule out the possibility of taking Congress's support.
"Uddhav Thackeray (Sena Chief) has clearly said we will wait for the BJP. But don't compel us to look for other alternatives. We don't want to commit that sin," said Raut.
"We can't deny the possibility (of taking Congress-NCP support). No one is a sadhu-sant (saint) in politics, though the Sena still believes in its principles," he added.
We contested less number of seats for the Lok Sabha and assembly elections. I cannot accommodate the BJP every time. We also need to grow our party. I want to remind the BJP of the formula which was worked out in the presence of (BJP president) Amit Shah," he said.
