KERALA MAN DONATES LOTTERY JACKPOT TO FLOOD RELIEF

Hamsa, lottery agent and lottery ticket seller from the village of Anchal in Kerala’s Kollam district donated Rs 1 lakh of his lottery winnings towards the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund. He had won the third prize in the Nirmal lottery that took place on August 10, reports The NewsMinute.
Hamsa, along with his wife Sonia and two children, Hadiya and Hanna Fathima, personally handed over the cheque to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister's office has said that Rs 700 crore had been raised by way of donations from people around the world and he also urged Malayalis around the globe to donate one month's salary since vast reconstruction works needs to be done in the aftermath of the deadly floods that struck the state.
