Engineer from Bihar forced to marry school dropout at gunpoint

According to reports, an engineer from Bihar was forced to get married to a school dropout at gunpoint. 30-year-old Durgesh Sharan, an engineer with the Indian Railways was kidnapped and coerced to marry 23-year-old Priyanka Kumari against his will.

 

Sharan's abduction was confirmed by the Bihar police. It was Sharan's mother, a primary school teacher who lodged a complaint on Saturday that her son was abducted. However, when interrogated Priyanka alleged that Sharan's family demanded dowry for the wedding. Priyanka also claimed that she already knew Sharan.

 

Sharan was on his way to Vaishali in a motorcycle when he was intercepted by an SUV and abducted. He was forced to marry Priyanka. Sharan was finally rescued from the house of a person named Arvind Rai.
