WOMAN ARRESTED FOR RAPING ANOTHER WOMAN; FIRST CASE AFTER SEC 377 VERDICT

In a shocking incident in Delhi, the police arrested a woman for raping another woman under Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code. This is the first such case after the Supreme Court's verdict on Section 377.

Reportedly, the 19-year-old accused tied artificial male genitalia around her waist and forcefully had sexual intercourse with the victim. The accused was later produced before the Karkardooma Court. After a day of interrogation, she was sent for judicial custody in Tihar Jail.

The incident reportedly took place last year in October. However, the police refused to take any action stating that a woman could not commit the crime of rape according to the IPC provision
