CORPORATE SIM, 30 MINUTES AND RS 45 LAKHS - CYBER CRIME

Jagdeesh the Chief of a firm called Creative Engineers based out in Bangalore got Rs 45.7 lakh withdrawn from his account without his consent on Tuesday ( Jan 7). The incident happened after Jagadeesh's corporate SIM card stopped working. 

30 Minutes, 45 Lakh

Jagadeesh asked his wife Mangala to check at the Canara Bank Vijayanar branch where she was informed that Rs 45. 7 lakh was transferred from overdraft and current accounts in five transactions. Later Jagadeesh and Mangala came to know that their corporate simcard was hacked. Reportedly the transaction was made in 30 minutes.

Police Complaint

The police officers have registered a case under IPC section 420 (Cheating) and ITACT 66D (punishment for cheating by personation by using computer resource) followed by the complaint made by Mangala.
