Even after weeks of the Supreme Court's historic Sabarimala verdict, debate around the ancient temple continues to make headlines. Now, Malayalam actor Kollam Thulasi has threatened to rip apart women who dare enter the temple. He went on to add that one half would be thrown at the chief minister's office, while the other sent to Delhi.
While addressing a rally to protest against the SC verdict, Thulasi said that real devotees could not accept the age-old custom being broken.
“The mothers (elderly woman) taking part in the protest against the judgment should go to Sabarimala. Then those women should rip apart the ones who try to enter the temple," he said in a brazen manner.
The Supreme Court in a landmark verdict, lifted a ban, allowing women aged between 10 and 50 years entry into the shrine. The verdict has sparked major protest, especially in the state of Kerala where women have refused to enter the temple.
The Congress, BJP and various Hindu organisations have also taken to the streets, demanding that the state government file a review petition against the verdict.
