When director Bala’s name is in the project, expectations automatically soar. But when his film is also accompanied by a huge landmark such as the 1000th film of Ilayaraja, the film reaches a higher level quickly.

The tracks of the film are in the much preferred and played list for many.

Tharai Thappattai is said to chronicle the lives of Karagattam, Thappattam and practitioners of other such art forms. Usually these people will be at the backdrop of any event but Bala has brought them to foreground in his film.

Sasikumar has played a nadaswaram exponent named Sannasi and his hardwork and dedication have almost led him to a mishap during the shooting wherein he had fractured his hand.

Varalaxmi as Sooravali had given her heart and soul to this film. Her commitment has made Bala himself go moist in his eyes, which made him present a gold quartz chain to the lady.

Chezhian helming the camera with his right angle and lighting is sure to bring Bala’s vision on screen perfectly.

In short Thara Thappattai is expected to be in the limelight for its realistic, raw and intense portrayal of emotions.
